Stormy Victoria

The first storm of the winter hit Victoria this weekend. The power went out for some hours and the family went out for a drive to pass the time. It wasn’t a big storm by Icelandic means but big enough to fell down trees and cut the power.

There is something romantic about storms and no electricity, some hint of how life used to be, without computers, television and heat. I could appreciate it more if we had a fireplace, that would be nice and cozy.
The photos are from yesterday in Victoria and from April 2006 in Iceland. The one from Victoria does not do the bad weather justice as it is a very long exposure, the one from Iceland does not either. Somehow waves shrink in photos, don’t know why.
