Just finished a project for the play School of Transformation a production made by Steinunn Knútsdóttir of Herbergi408 and Zoe Christiansen of Mobile Homes….

Did portraits, designed the posters and promotional material and did a small website which you can see here. School of Transformation is a part of the LOKAL theatre festival that starts today in Reykjavik.

Snorri Gunnarsson is an Icelandic Photographer based in Reykjavik Iceland. Focusing on Landscape, commercial, wedding and editorial photography.

My band which I play guitar for just released a single from an upcoming album. It´s called Föllin which could translate to Falls or Falling. Check out the song on youtube.

Snorri Gunnarsson is an Icelandic Photographer based in Reykjavik Iceland. Focusing on Landscape, commercial, wedding and editorial photography.

Again working for the theater, now designing and photographing for a very special performance called Jöklar or Glaciers. It is a play that is performed in 4 locations in Iceland, brodcasted live on the internet and in a movie theatre. Pretty ambitious production and great to be a part of. The play will be opened on Friday at 8 o´clock and can be seen on the web at Herbergi408.is

It is shot on a Canon 5D mark II, with 85mm 1.2 – Canon 24-70mm 2.8 and 70-200mm 2.8

Just finished a very rewarding and fun assignment with the theatre group Lab Loki – photographing and designing the promo materials for the monologue Svikarinn. It´s a play written by Lab Loki´s Rúnar Guðbrandsson and Árni Pétur Guðjónsson, where they mix and match from Jean Genet´s plays mainly The Maids and Thief´s Journal with their own experiences. Rúnar directs and Árni acts– it´s a very powerful and captivating play. If in Iceland it can be seen at the Tjarnarbíó theater.

My first assignment in Iceland was to photograph a play by the theater group LabLoki, called Ufsagrýlur or Gargoyles. It´s a great play by an Icelandic writer called Sjón and performed at the Hafnarfjarðarleikhúsið.

The poster and program was designed by me and my friends Thorri and Linda at Hringbrot.

One of the most fun shoots this summer was a shoot I did for Shi Studio. Shi Studio, based in Victoria BC, designs jewelry and accessories. They have beautiful products for both men and women.

We decided to shoot the outdoors scenes at dusk on a great summer day. Using the golden hour to capture the models and the product in the late daylight.

Lately I have been getting a lot of requests for technical information. Without going into to much detail(I am lazy) here goes:

Outside shoot. One AlienBee 800 Octagon softbox, stripped for harder light. Powered by a really long extension cord to a converter attached to a car. Should really get a nice portable battery unit! Everything shot with a Canon 5D – Canon 24-70 2.8 and Canon 16-45 MII 2.8.

Studio. 3 AlienBee softboxes, square ones for back, side and hair and an Octagon softbox for front fill. Same camera and lenses as outside.

Summer is sweet, busy but sweet. I have done some interesting assignments this summer but all of them are still in post production, have not yet been published or used. So I cant either.
I moved out to the country last month, 30km from Victoria to the beautiful Metchosin. Enjoying it thoroughly and doing a lot of personal stuff.
BCoutside is busy as always check it out for some fresh stories and photography, lot of new stuff will be there in the next couple of weeks.

A couple of friends and I, just launched BCoutside.com it is an Online Magazine on Active Lifestyle and Travel. Medium to long articles on all kinds of subjects that have a common denominator, being outside. Check it out and visit often, as it will be updated on a very regular basis.
