What a show we got in Iceland on March 17th this year (2015). The solar storm hit Iceland with a crazy show of Northern Lights, making it impossible to stop photographing until it was over.
At the time I was guiding a private tour and we were in a great location on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, around Kirkjufell, Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall and the narrow fjord of Kolgrafarfjörður.
Everyone got great images of the Aurora Borealis spectacular show. As usual the camera picked up colours we could not see with our bare eyes, but even to the naked eye the show was truly spectacular.
Before the Aurora show we were treated to a spectacular sunset at the Lóndrangar volcanic plugs. With storm clouds sweeping over bringing a mixture of snow and sunny breaks, true to the Icelandic weather monicker “if you don´t like the weather, wait 10 minutes”.
